ARMENIAN ACCOUNTING REFORM PROGRAM (1999 – 2000)

EWMI supported the adoption of international accounting and auditing standards in Armenia and the implementation of these standards by Armenian enterprises through the USAID-funded Armenian Accounting Reform Program. Under a subcontract with Sibley International, EWMI’s consultants developed a training program based on the internationally recognized Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) syllabus for international and national certification and licensing. Further, the ACCA model is now being used within the educational curriculum reform to prepare future accountants. The project was successful in leading the process of conversion by Armenian enterprises from statutory accounting systems to international accounting systems. EWMI also assisted Sibley International with similar efforts in Georgia.
