IMPROVING INDUSTRIAL GOVERNANCE IN BOTSWANA: ADVISORY AND CAPACITY BUILDING SUPPORT FOR THE FORMULATION OF A NEW INDUSTRIAL POLICY (2010 – 2012)

In February 2010, the East-West Management Institute (EWMI) was awarded a fixed-price contract by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) to assist in the design and formulation of a new industrial policy for Botswana. The project concentrated on two activities: (i) the elaboration of a new industrial policy for the Ministry of Trade and Industry in Botswana; and (ii) the preparation of a capacity building program aimed at strengthening the capacity of the Ministry to monitor industrial trends and conduct economic analyses, which will serve as inputs for industrial policy formulation.
